What is a flake floor?

A flake floor mixes colored flakes into the coating, so the surface reads as a speckled, textured field instead of one flat color.

That texture is what makes it forgiving in daily use, and the seamless surface is easy to clean. It is the finish most people picture for a garage, and it works just as well in busy commercial rooms.

Why people choose flake.

  1. Texture that forgives

The speckled surface keeps everyday dust and small marks from standing out the way they would on one flat color.

  2. Easy to keep clean

A seamless coated surface, with no grout lines or joints to trap dirt.

  3. Your color blend

The flakes are a mix of colors, and the blend you choose sets the overall tone of the floor.

Flake or Solid Colors?

Both are common garage choices. Flake has texture that forgives dust and small marks; solid colors give one clean, uniform look.

Good to know.

  • Look at samples in the actual space: a blend reads differently under garage lighting than in daylight.

  • Like any coating, it is only as good as the preparation under it, which is why every KS floor starts with grinding and repair.
